What To Expect

All Saints Church was built in the 14th Century. (For more information, see our history pages.) Whilst many of the original features, such as the pews, still remain, we have over the years introduced more comfort! The church has a heating system, a sound system, hearing loop, toilet and is easily accessible for wheelchair users. There is an area towards the front of the church where children can sit together and craft materials are provided. We are in the process of building a crèche with an inbuilt speaker where parents can take their children during the service if required, without missing parts of the service. There is a toilet with baby-changing facilities through the door on the left at the front of the church.

At All Saints, we hold two services on Sundays. The 8:00am service, which around thirty-five people attend, follows the Book of Common Prayer with Communion being celebrated every week. Hymns are accompanied on the organ and the service generally lasts around forty-five minutes.
Many people find inspiration through the more reflective nature of this traditional form of worship. The Book of Common Prayer has been used for 345 years and it can be quite awe-inspiring to be in a church, a building constructed solely for the worship of God, speaking words, which have echoed, unchanged through the generations.

The 11:00am service has a more contemporary feel and around one hundred people regularly attend. Children are encouraged to take part in the services and there is usually a children’s talk near the beginning after which the Sunday Club go to their activities. A team of gifted musicians within the congregation leads worship and others lead prayer. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month, a family service, often involving the Boys Brigade, Rainbows, Brownies and Guides, is held on the fourth Sunday of each month, and once a month, we have a time of testimony – an opportunity for people to share what God has done for them in their lives.
At the end of each service, we have a prayer ministry for people who feel touched by the service, or would just like somebody to pray with or for them.
Tea and coffee are always available at the end of the service and this is a really good time to get to know people and relax. We have a friendly team on the door to welcome people and answer any questions you may have but please contact us if you would like any further details, or if you would like to talk about Christianity with someone from the church.
